Motherhood!

How I boosted my milk production in two days.

Pumping is a full time job. Period. As this is my second round of working full time and pumping, the rules of the game have not changed… for the most part.

Wake up, pump, work, pump, lunch, pump…. it’s a routine. It’s like my handy dandy pump is my BFF. For baby number two, I’ve set goals just like Baby number one. Hitting the two month mark. Then hitting the three… and keep going each month if possible until I hit a year.

But wait, when Baby M (Baby 2) hits her three month that’s where the growth spurts happen. It happened with Baby L, and now happening with Baby M. We are almost at that three month mark and that’s when babies usually hit their growth spurt and want more milk!

Well if baby wants more milk then momma has to make more milk…. making more milk means pumping more and eating the right “milk boosters”!

These last few days (almost to our month 3 mark) Baby M has been hitting her growth spurt. So, I immediately start thinking of my milk boosters. Oatmeal worked last time so, I started that for breakfast but then a friend on Facebook posted about this drink made with coconut milk that really helped her. Then I said, what the heck I’ll try too!

This drink is the “body armor super drink” made with coconut milk. I really like the fruit punch and strawberry banana. I drank one on Monday and another on Tuesday. (Usually between my 8-5 job I pump about 16oz to 18 oz on a good day) but on this Wednesday I pumped 23 ounces! Of course I try to stay hydrated with water, eat my oats like I always do, but with this one drink I was able to pump a little extra which made all the difference.

That’s it, besides my normal food/snacks/water intake, I drank this also and BAM! a few ounces milk was was I added! My go to snacks are the Nature Valley Granola Protein, and Nature Valley snack mix.

That’s it, that is all I did to increase a little bit of my milk supply! For more of my tips and tricks, stay tuned!
